Your correspondent has been approached again for information about the no-call number that was posted several weeks ago. If you do not wish to receive the telephone solicitations at your number, call 1-800-382-1222. This does not eliminate all calls, but certainly cuts down on the numbers.

While you are writing your Christmas cards this year, why not address one for the following address: A Recovering American Soldier, c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 6900 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20307-5001. The American Soldier will certainly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Drop-in callers during Thanksgiving of Maria Seemann were Brenda Rondish, Megan and Kaitlyn of Lenexa and Wilma Sweat of Cedar.

Winter set in over the weekend with freezing rain falling Saturday morning causing very slick conditions on the roads and sidewalks. It warmed up enough in the afternoon to melt the ice. A cold north wind with temps in the 30's Sunday reminded us that it is December and heavy jackets, hats and gloves are starting to feel pretty good; however, a warm-up is predicted again for the remainder of this week. Monday, as this was written, was a perfect gorgeous winter day.

The usual good morning greetings and fit and fitness exercises begin each day. One-one sessions are held routinely. The beauty shop was open Monday and manicures were given. Trivia was discussed Monday afternoon. Bingo was played Tuesday afternoon. Badlands, S.D.,  and Thanksgiving were discussed Wednesday.

Pastor Koeneke had the Thursday morning Bible study followed by cookies, coffee and fellowship. Lois Hrabe played dinner music at noon. The years 1935 and 1970 facts were shared in the afternoon. The local news was read Friday morning and bingo was played in the afternoon.

The residents enjoy movies, puzzles, card games, and game shows during the evening.

New residents at Prairie Haven are Lucille Schoeni of Kensington and Wauneta Abbott of Agra. Welcome from the staff and residents. They enjoy friends coming to see them.

Sympathy is extended to Louis Rhode who was a resident only a short time, but we will miss him.
