Ashley Bertholf, daughter of Kelly and Tera Bertholf, and Ethan Kuhlmann, son of Annalee and Alvie Ratliff and Greg and Julie Kuhlmann, were crowned queen and king at the annual homecoming at Kensington High School Friday evening before the football game with Jewell. Attendants were Lindsey Grauerholz and JoAnn Yoxall and Randall Irving and Ethan Lamont. Kindergarteners, Iva Rust and Cameron Grauerholz, were the crown bearers. Theme for the evening was "Lost in the Moment."

A large crowd was in attendance for the last homecoming of the Goldbugs before the consolidation with Eastern Heights next year. The football game was won by Kensington with a score of 56-6 shortly before a thunderstorm with lightning and thunder but only .20 of rain came through the area.

Mrs. Bilby and her husband Matt, who is a large capacity meter technician for Kinder Morgan, live in Phillipsburg. Their oldest son is a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and along with his wife, Tara and two grandchildren are presently stationed in Okinawa. Their daughters, Melanie, a senior, and Jennifer, a sophomore, are students at Phillipsburg High School. Mrs. Bilby enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with her family and pets, and routing for the Nebraska Huskers.

Marge Hofer is beginning her 22nd year as Title I reading and math teacher at the Kensington elementary school. She graduated from Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in Hays She received her BS in music education and her MS as a reading specialist from Ft. Hays State University. She taught at Scott City and Smith Center before coming to Kensington. Her biggest lament in her present position is that she doesn't have enough time to spend with her students.

Mrs. Hofer and her husband, Bill, live on a farm near Cedar. They are the parents of three daughters, Elizabeth who with her husband, Darren Wiens, and son, Solomon, live in Kearney, Neb., and Anna and Debra who are students at Ft. Hays State University. Her hobbies are reading, crocheting, and working in their yard.

Sheila Bogart is in her ninth year at Kensington as educator for grades 9 thru 12 with student exception abilities. She graduated from Eastern Heights High School and received her BS in elementary education and MS in special education with endorsement in English and Science from Ft. Hays State University. She is also the head high school volleyball coach. She previously taught and coached at Eastern Heights.

She and her husband of 25 years, Rodger, live in Kirwin. They have two sons, Cody, who is a full-time firefighter at McPherson and Brenton, who is attending Ft. Hays State University majoring in elementary education. She states that her hobbies have been limited as she attained her college education while being a full-time wife, mother, and teacher which kept her plenty busy.

This concludes the series of profiles on the certified teachers in the USD-238 School District. All of them expressed that they are happy teaching Kensington school system, but all state that their positions are greatly aided by a number of paras who work and help with the students. Also, the school could not operate without the efficiency of the coaches, secretaries and office staff, cooks, custodians, bus drivers, school nurse, and parents, grandparents, and patrons. Thanks to everyone who makes Kensington a wonderful place for our students to get their education. Please remember to express your appreciation to our teachers and staff.

Your correspondent has enjoyed visiting with our teachers and writing these articles. She has received lots of positive feedback on getting to know more about our teachers. If anyone knows other persons in the community of interest, please let her know and she will be happy to write about them, too.
