The Fellowship Hall at First St. John
Lutheran was the setting for the evening
when Tiffany Bohm treated the Music Club and
guests to a catered meal Monday, Feb. 18.
Decorations of mirrors, candles, and other
red accents adorned the tables. After
singing the Doxology in beautiful harmony,
the meal began with a Caesar salad and
foccacia bread. The main course was veal
saltimboca and angel hair with creamy tomato
sauce; chocolate short cake with berries and
cream followed. The meal was served by the
family of the hostess, the Bohms and
Wangerins.
The program started with Annette Riley
singing "Valentine" and "How Could I Ask for
More." Galen Larson wasaccompanied by
Wendell Bohm on the harmonica as they sang
"Love Me' and "One More Day." They led the
group in singing the favorite "Tell Me Why."
John and Becky Saddler sang "Longer Than"
and "Let This Be Our Prayer." Everyone
joined in singing "Happy Birthday" to Martin
Stenseng. President Nancy Wangerin gave
several door prizes to lucky winners. The
next meeting is Tuesday, March 18, at the
Newbreys.

Sixteen members of the K-town Kates and

"The King and I" at the Minden Opera House
Sunday afternoon. The beautiful weather was
also appreciated. The group had dinner at
the Black Powder in Franklin after the
performance.
President Loretta Struik handed out
yearbooks and presented several program
ideas. Agnes Melina and Ruth Levin
volunteered to host the Food Pantry on March
15. Watch for announcement of March meeting.

Heavy absences from flu were reported last
Monday and Tuesday at both the Kensington
elementary and high schools, but have been
decreasing since. About normal absentees are
reported this (Monday) morning at both
attendance centers. We hope the flu is on
the decrease as many people, especially
older folks, have been very ill.
Joan and Steve Heidi of Downs had Monday
dinner with her father, Guy Billings, at the
Senior Center to help Guy celebrate his
birthday.
The KHS Spirit Squad (Gold Dusters and
Cheerleaders) are busy rehearsing for their
performance at the State Basketball
Tournament in Hays on Saturday, March 8, at
the half-time of the 6:15 game. More
information on a dress rehearsal performance
in the gym will be announced next week.
Sunday was a day to remind us that spring is
just around the corner with temps in the
60's. Even the birds were in the mood for
singing. But--don't put the winter gear away
yet as Monday is much colder with strong
north winds and sprinkles of rain. Anything
outdoors not firmly attached will be on its
way south. At the middle of the week,
temperatures are to moderate again for us
all to enjoy.
