As this column is written on Monday, rain has been falling during the night and into the morning. Rumbles of faint thunder were heard during the night. Rain gauges are still in hibernation to keep them from freezing, but several report about .70. Rain really beats snow at this time of the year and will be very beneficial for the emerging wheat crop which shows more greening each day. A cold front moved through over the weekend putting an end to the spring-like temps, but warmer weather should be forthcoming according to forecasters.
