Your correspondent
would appreciate you having your news
items to her by Sunday noon next week
since the papers are asking for early
copy because of the Thanksgiving
holiday. Your reports are what make this
column interesting. Your phone calls or
e-mails to ruthb@ruraltel.net would
certainly be appreciated. Please report
your Thanksgiving guests.
The
Agra Legion Post number was incorrect in
last week's issue. It is #357. Everyone
appreciated them coming over to be a
part of our Veterans' Day parade.
Dr. Mark Bienhoff of the veterinary
tech department at Diamond V in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, recently made a business
trip to Brisbane and Coolum, Queensland,
Australia, and Bangkok, Thailand. His
report in a few of his chosen words was
as follows: "The journey was rich with
both concerning issues as well as
unexpected joys. I met some truly
fascinating people. Bangkok was
disconcerting in so many ways,
especially in the way people without the
sense of God live. But, they, too, are
not outside His love and mercy." He and
his mother, Ruth Bienhoff, enjoyed close
contact by e-mail while he was gone.
Mark practiced Veterinary Medicine in
Phillipsburg prior to joining the feed
technology field.
The rain last
week and cooler temperatures have not
allowed the fields to dry to where the
farmers can finish their milo harvest.
Fields are still extremely muddy. Seldom
do we complain about rain, but it is
hoped that more moisture will hold off
for several weeks, or preferably until
after the holidays.
