Around the
Community
Your correspondent had a phone call from
Jerry Brien of Ft. Worth, Tex., stating
he appreciated the concerns of friends.
He has completed fourteen radiation
treatments for several small malignant
spots on his brain and is now awaiting
results . He is unable to drive. His
address is 117 Yuchi Tr. N., Ft. Worth,
TX 76108.
Ken Wynn is now a
resident of Prairie Haven.
J.S.
Wagner was taken to the Smith County
Hospital Saturday evening for
observation and treatment. He expected
to be home in several days.
Esther Norden has returned to her home
after a short stay at Prairie Haven
after being hospitalized.
Maria
Seemann and her granddaughter, Aleah,
drove to Kansas City to spend a recent
weekend with the Louis Seemann family.
The groundhog saw his shadow
Monday morning, Feb. 2, and that means
six more weeks of winter as tradition
indicates. Right now, no one is
complaining about the weather with the
high reaching into the 70's on Saturday.
Your correspondent noted that the future
stars of the baseball season had dug out
their balls and bats and were having a
game on the neighborhood lot. A bigger
concern is the lack of moisture and lots
of wind. Perhaps spring will come early
with some needed rain.

Card games and putting puzzles together
are other favorite pasttimes.
The Hearland Worship Center had the
Sunday afternoon worship for the
residents. Present with Pastor Darrell
and Jeri Schmid, Pauline Richter, and
Georgetta Kinyon.
Sympathy is
extended to the family of Guy Billings.
Guy will be sadly missed by residents
and staff.
